A good story needs a good villain, and the girl group Badvillain are trying to rise to the occasion. The group is aiming to become the villain of K-pop through the release of their debut three-track single, ‘Overstep’, which will be released on Monday.

“Overstep” is a title which depicts the image of a villain who breaks the rules of society. The release includes three songs: the lead track “Badvillain”, “Badtitude” and “+82”.

I’m so happy to finally make my debut, I’m actually a little nervous, but I still want to show our hard work to the audience as soon as possible

Vin

Badvillain has seven members: Emma, Vin, Hu’e, Kelly, Yunseo, Chloe Young and Ina.

Emma was a member of the project dance crew “Want”, which appeared on Mnet’s casting programme “Street Woman Fighter” (2023), while Chloe Young was a member of the Korean dance crew 1Million. Hu’e and Yunseo participated in MBC’s idol audition programme “My Teenage Girl” (2021).

With all of the members having experience in dancing, it seems that the group is leaning towards the performing aspect of K-pop.

We have been focusing on live performances, Badvillain is strong in performance and each member has a different style, which is our biggest charm

Emma

Badvillain’s confidence in their dance performances can be seen in the performance videos uploaded to their label Big Planet Made’s YouTube channel. As of Monday, the group’s videos have been viewed more than 2.5 million times.
