espa (에스파), stylized as æspa, is a 4-member South Korean girl group under SM Entertainment. The group consists of Karina, Giselle, Winter, and NingNing.
Group History
aespa debuted on November 17, 2020, with the digital single “Black Mamba”. Since their debut, they have gained significant popularity and achieved numerous milestones:
- In May 2021, they released “Next Level,” which became a commercial and critical success.
- Their first EP, “Savage,” was released in October 2021, becoming the highest-charting debut album by a K-pop girl group on the US Billboard 200 chart at number 20.
- In July 2022, their second EP “Girls” broke the record for the best-selling album by a K-pop girl group in history.
- They released their third EP “My World” in May 2023.
- Their first studio album “Armageddon” was released in May 2024.
aespa is known for popularizing the metaverse concept and hyperpop music in K-pop. They have also secured numerous brand endorsements, including Givenchy, Clio, Mediheal, and Chopard.
