With groups celebrating anniversaries such as Super Junior and INFINITE as well as solo superstars such as NAYEON, XIA, Sunmi and BOL4, which new song will get your vote?
Every week, the Korean music scene continues to deliver outstanding songs across a variety of genres and styles, and last week was no exception, with a strong selection of hits with global and crossover potential, satisfyingly nostalgic duets and some of the most promising new artists for 2024.
A number of major solo stars have recently returned to the scene: TWICE’s NAYEON released her second solo album, NA, on Friday (14 June), hoping to make history again after becoming the first K-pop solo artist to score a top 10 album on the Billboard 200 with 2022’s IM NAYEON.
Meanwhile, Sunmi, SAAY, BOL4 and aespa’s GISELLE have all released new material for fans, while Kim Jae Joong and XIA – from legendary groups TVXQ! and JYJ respectively – have signalled their exciting return to the industry with new tracks.
On the group front, popular acts such as Super Junior and INFINITE celebrate major milestones with anniversary singles.
Meanwhile, A.C.E, ATEEZ and WayV are proving the universal appeal of their latest releases with new singles in multiple languages and/or new remixes.
