Girls group cignature will release their fifth EP, “Sweetie but Saltie”, on June 10.
The EP’s title “Sweetie but Saltie” is a “pun on the ambiguous nature of relationships” and “the album will include songs about sweet and salty love,” their agency C9 Entertainment said Friday.
“Sweetie but Saltie” is the first new album from Cignature in 10 months. They put out their thirdEp, “My Little Aurora”, in January last year and their fourthEp, “Us in the Summer”, in August.
Who Are Cignature?
On 4 February 2021, the group announced through their 1st anniversary V Live that their fandom would be called Ciluv (시럽). However, later the same day, a personal post from member Ye Ah on their fan cafe hinted that they would be changing the name.
On 27 April, it was announced that Ye Ah and Sunn had left the group. It was stated that they had terminated their contracts without any conditions and that cignature would be a five-member group in the future.
On the 14th of June, Chloe and Do Hee were announced as the two new members.
On 28 July, it was announced that the new name of the group would be “SIGNFAN”.
On November 8th, they released their teaser for their second EP Dear Diary Moment, released on November 30th. “Boyfriend” served as the album’s title track.
Cignature, alongside their labelmates Lee Seok Hoon, Younha, CIX, and EPEX, were featured in the song “Merry Merry Christmas” as part of C9’s first single album, “2022 C9 Christmas”, released on December 7, 2022.
On December 29, 2022, cignature posted a cryptic teaser hinting to a comeback with the caption, “cignature, Coming Soon”. Later on January 2, the group revealed the promotion scheduler for their third EP, My Little Aurora, which was released on January 17.
On August 1, it was announced that cignature will be releasing their fourth EP, Us in the Summer, on August 29.
On January 18, C9 Entertainment released a statement announcing that due to member Belle debuting as a member of UNIS, she would not participate in any future activites with Cignature and the group would continue to promote as six.
On May 24, the group released a teaser for their fifth EP Sweetie But Saltie, set for release on June 10.
