Dragon Pony, the energetic four-member band under Antenna, is making waves in the Korean music scene and recently captured attention with a striking pictorial preview in Rolling Stone Korea’s Issue. The group, consisting of An Taegyu, Pyun Sunghyun, Kwon Sehyuk, and Ko Ganghun, debuted on September 26, 2024, with their EP Pop Up, and their presence in the iconic magazine signals their growing influence and appeal.
The Rolling Stone Korea pictorial highlights Dragon Pony’s fresh charisma and visual appeal, with fans especially noting Pyun Sunghyun’s standout visuals in the preview. The shoot showcases the group’s modern rock-inspired style, blending youthful energy with a sophisticated edge-qualities that have quickly set them apart in the competitive K-pop and K-band landscape.

Dragon Pony’s journey began in 2022 under the name Saehamano before rebranding in March 2024 after joining Antenna. The group’s unique name reflects the members’ Chinese zodiac signs: three born in the year of the horse (pony) and one in the year of the dragon, symbolizing their unity and diverse personalities. Their official greeting, “Hello. We are Dragon Pony,” and their growing fandom, For Young, reflect their approachable and sincere image.
The band’s debut was anything but ordinary. Before officially launching, Dragon Pony completed two missions set by Antenna’s CEO: reaching 20,000 Instagram followers and holding a solo concert for 500 fans. Their successful concert at Musinsa Garage in Seoul marked a significant milestone, and their active YouTube channel documents their journey, including live clips and self-composed tracks like “Morse Code,” “Traffic Jam,” and “Snake That Eats Its Tail”.
Dragon Pony’s members each bring unique strengths to the group. Leader and vocalist An Taegyu, known for his warm leadership and songwriting skills, founded the band and is admired for his musical versatility and thoughtful presence. Bassist Pyun Sunghyun, praised for his visuals and musical sensitivity, has been active in music since childhood and is recognized for his close friendships within the group. Guitarist Kwon Sehyuk, a multi-instrumentalist, is valued for his creative input and camaraderie, while drummer Ko Ganghun, fluent in English and known for his humor, rounds out the group with his dynamic stage presence and production skills.

Despite being relatively new, Dragon Pony has already participated in notable events, including music festivals and collaborations with labelmates, and contributed a remake to the 20th anniversary album of the band Peppertones. Their Rolling Stone Korea pictorial marks another step in their ascent, offering fans and newcomers a glimpse into the vibrant personalities and musical potential that define Dragon Pony.
As anticipation builds for their next releases, Dragon Pony’s blend of talent, teamwork, and visual flair positions them as one of the most promising new acts in the Korean music industry. With each appearance and performance, they continue to carve out a distinct identity-one that resonates with fans and industry watchers alike.
