Global powerhouse girl group KATSEYE has officially kicked off the next chapter of their musical evolution.
Dropping just yesterday, July 24, their fierce new single “Animal” serves as a bold, pop-infused anthem designed to embrace uninhibited energy and wild confidence.
Co-written by pop icon Ed Sheeran and produced by hitmakers Omer Fedi and Blake Slatkin, the track blends punchy rhythms with an magnetic hook.
“Animal” explores the delicate line between our polished public personas and the wilder instincts that come out behind closed doors.
Accompanying the track is a cinematic, spy-thriller-inspired music video directed by Cody Critcheloe.
Featuring a surprise cameo by Hollywood royalty Demi Moore, the visual places members Sophia, Daniela, Lara, Megan, and Yoon-chae in a maze of observation rooms and mirrored realities, delivering sharp choreography and striking red-and-black styling.

Social Buzz & Fan Reactions
Online platforms have been buzzing with hot takes since the track dropped.
The response across the K-pop community highlights a growing divide over KATSEYE’s evolving sound:
“Animal” acts as the second preview of KATSEYE’s upcoming third EP, WILD, dropping August 14 ahead of their world tour this fall.
Whether fans are instantly hooked by its mainstream appeal or debating its sonic direction, one thing is certain: KATSEYE knows how to command the global spotlight.
Beyond its infectious melody, “Animal” highlights KATSEYE’s distinct position as a truly international, cross-cultural girl group.
Formed through HYBE and Geffen Records’ global audition program The Debut: Dream Academy, the five active members—representing diverse backgrounds from the United States, the Philippines, and South Korea—bring a unique blend of global influences to the track.
Their multilingual vocal delivery and seamlessly blended harmonies demonstrate how the group continues to bridge the gap between traditional K-pop precision and Western pop sensibility.

The choreography for “Animal” also sets a new benchmark for the group, emphasizing sleek, high-energy movements that complement the track’s dramatic bassline.
Performance clips released alongside the official drop show the quintet executing intricate floor work and sharp, synchronized formations with effortless charismatic poise.
With their upcoming world tour on the horizon, “Animal” serves as a captivating preview of the explosive live performances fans can expect to see on stage later this year.
