EXO is a renowned South Korean boy group formed by SM Entertainment. Debuting on April 8, 2012, the group has become one of the most influential acts in K-pop.
Group History
EXO initially debuted with 12 members divided into two sub-units: EXO-K (Korean) and EXO-M (Mandarin). The original lineup consisted of Suho, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, Sehun, Xiumin, Lay, Chen, Kris, Luhan, and Tao.Over the years, EXO experienced several changes:
- 2014: Kris and Luhan left the group.
- 2015: Tao departed.
- 2017: Lay began focusing on solo activities in China, reducing his participation in group activities.
- 2019-2023: Members started enlisting for mandatory military service, with Kai and Sehun being the latest to enlist.
Despite these changes, EXO has maintained its popularity, releasing hit albums and singles throughout their career. They’ve also formed sub-units like EXO-CBX and EXO-SC, and members have pursued successful solo careers.
