Constantly breaking barriers, BLACKPINK brought the K-Pop hype as the first K-pop group to headline at BST Hyde Park in London this past Sunday.
With a fully sold-out night, the fields of Hyde Park were completely covered by 65,000 fans dressed in black and pink as they excitedly waved their lightsticks, eager for the performance to start. Fans anxiously waited for the show to start as they chanted and sang to the BLACKPINK songs that played on the loudspeakers. Making their fans wait a quarter after their scheduled set time, the crowd went berserk as the four ladies took on the stage with full power to ‘Pink Venom‘.
Flying through bangers and keeping the excitement going with songs like ‘How You Like That,’ and ‘Pretty Savage,’ the dance hits allowed the group to show off their impressive choreography. Commanding the stage with such great ease, all eyes were on the quartet as they strutted down the catwalk to reach chairs that awaited them to be used as dance props. The crowd never stopped feeding the group with energy as BLACKPINK slithered around the chairs.
As the night progressed, there were several outfit changes. What felt like a lengthy interlude as the male dancers danced all over the stage to a remix of ‘Whistle.’ The girls were getting ready to showcase their individual talents. Up first was Jennie who quickly brightened up the stage with a performance of her unreleased ‘You and Me,’ to quickly surprising fans with a performance of her debut song ‘Solo.’ As Jennie disappeared, Jisoo took full control as the stage became engulfed in red, performing her latest solo debut single ‘Flower.’ As the red disappeared from the stage, Rosé took on the stage to show her vocals as she passionately sang a bit of her ballad ‘Gone,’ before turning things up and going full popstar with ‘On The Ground.’ Last but not least, Lisa had the whole crowd twerking and screaming “DOLLA BILLS” to her hit ‘Money.’
