For the second time, BigHit Music released an apology and finally changed the entry criteria for BTS member Jin’s discharge commemorative event.
Earlier, Big Hit Music announced that they would hold an offline event at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Songpa-gu, Seoul, which was deemed a “hug party” on the 13th to commemorate Jin’s discharge. They explained that the event was arranged at Jin’s suggestion to spend meaningful time closely with ARMY, BTS’ loyal fanbase.
However, the KPop community expressed dissatisfaction with BTS’ label for limiting the event entry based on those who purchased BTS albums released after “Proof” through Weverse Shop Global and during the entry period.
Fans argued it was unfair to exclude those who had already purchased albums from entering the event, scheduled during BTS’ annual FESTA celebration period and their debut anniversary on June 13.
We apologize for not setting the entry criteria meticulously. We will amend the entry criteria to include those who have previously purchased albums from Weverse Shop. We will do our best to ensure that Jin’s sentiments are well conveyed to fans and apologize once again for the inconvenience caused.“
In response, Big Hit Music apologized on Weverse the previous day
Ultimately, in response to ARMY’s feedback, BigHit Music revised the entry criteria. Now, those who had previously purchased the ‘Proof’ or ‘The Astronaut’ albums from Weverse Shop Global are eligible. Additionally, those who purchase albums released after ‘Proof’ (including solo albums) through Weverse Shop Global during the entry period (from June 2, 11 AM to June 6, 11:59 PM) can also enter. For more detailed information, please refer to Weverse.
We deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused during the entry process. We will improve our procedures to prevent the same issues from occurring in future events. We once again apologize and ask for fans’ understanding“
Big Hit Music concluded with a second apology
BTS’ Jin, real name Kim Seokjin, currently serving as an active-duty soldier, will be discharged on June 12 and helm BTS Festa. Jungkook, or rather his voice, will join their 11th-anniversary event with the release of his digital single “Never Let Go.”
