“TWICE Ignites Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show: First K-Pop Girl Group to Conquer the Runway”
In the midst of South Korean girl group TWICE’s tenth anniversary and world tour, four of the nine members; Jihyo, Nayeon, Momo and Tzuyu, made history as the first female K-Pop group to perform at Victoria’s Secret 2025 fashion show in New York City.
After a six year absence, the Victoria’s Secret fashion show first made a legendary return in 2024 with BlackPink member Lisa present as the first ever K-Pop idol to perform. Following on from that success, TWICE made their own appearance the following year as headline performers. They first appeared on the pink carpet, clad in outfits that showcased a black and white concept. Momo chose to wear a classic tailored three-piece pinstripe suit. Nayeon’s cut out dress held a bold and unique patterns while Jihyo opted for a sheer lace gown with a feathered hemline. Tzuyu completed the concept with a white high-necked ruched dress adorned with a sparkling brooch to complete the elegant fashion concept that the members embodied.
The members took to the runway, headlining the brand’s ‘Class of PINK 2025’ segment. They performed spellbinding renditions of their popular songs ‘Strategy’ and ‘This is For’. The members sleek, embellished, black and pink bodysuits paired seamlessly with signature Victoria’s Secret garments which gave a unique flair to the stage.

Both Jihyo and Momo’s bodysuits incorporated leopard print, bringing to life a Y2K concept that was seen through the use of furs, miniskirts, as well as in the latest fashion apparel being worn by the angels walking the runway. TWICE’s outfits were decorated with sparkling chains and matching knee-high pink fur boots, custom made by designers Kim Shui and Kyle Chan. Via Kyle Chan’s instagram, the stylist expressed his delight in creating custom body chain pieces for TWICE’s performance and acknowledged that he was proud to “make history together”.
The classic Victoria’s Secret aesthetics paired with TWICE’s powerful onstage performance melted together to represent a celebration of femininity. As Tzuyu expressed in an interview with Nylon, performing at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show “felt like a dream come true” as the group reflected on “a moment that was special for them” as revealed on their instagram post after the show.
With undeniable influence, TWICE’s appearance at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show can be marked as a defining moment for the intersection between K-Pop and fashion. Victoria’s Secret fashion shows merge musical performance and runway fashion. Known for its glamorous and intimate appeal, the brand has pushed to reinvent itself for body diversity and inclusivity.

The PINK apparel line focuses particularly on this – promoting self expression and confidence in oneself while targeting a younger demographic. With a focus on casual loungewear, activewear and products for younger women, the brand emphasises a vibrant and energetic lifestyle that resonates through their clothing. The Class of Pink 2025 featured a diverse set of angels, fuelling empowerment that resonated through TWICE’s performance of songs that celebrate womanhood and resilience.
Throughout TWICE’s ten year career as a top girl group, their exploration of concepts is a strong representation of growth as artists. Earlier albums featured a cute, bright and energetic concept which became the group’s signature style. In later years, the concept evolved into more mature and elegant themes. TWICE’s 2015 debut under JYP Entertainment synchronised with K-Pop’s ‘aegyo’ theme and girl crush archetypes, appealing to audiences through what was a widely accepted image for girl groups. The youthful and playful fashion that revolved around trendy apparel with vibrant hues are classic k-pop girl group aesthetics, an expertise that TWICE maintained. TWICE’s transition to maturity allowed for the emergence of a fresh chapter for the group, debuting bolder aesthetics that reflected their albums that tackled deeper lyrical meaning; acting as a window to the souls of the members.

From fashion that consisted of pastel palettes and playful patterns that emphasised the cheerful visual style of K-Pop, TWICE’s shift towards refined silhouettes and darker shades signifies the group’s move towards the global stage. With several members now acting as global luxury brand ambassadors, (Dahyun – Michael Kors, Sana – Prada, Mina – Fendi, Momo – Miu Miu, etc) their intersection with fashion has expanded their global reach and solidified their reputation as fashion trendsetters. TWICE’s repertoire in editorial campaigns and influencing fashion trends has contributed to their multifaceted identity, integrating K-Pop culture into global styles and influencing unique aesthetics that act as a powerful tool for new creative visions and cultural expression. The fusion of global fashion and K-Pop has set a new tone for artists, being utilised as a method of narration that defines visual identity and leaves lasting impressions on fans. Through experimental fashion, artistic vision shines through and pushes through the boundaries of conventional fashion.
January 6th marked TWICE’s return to Victoria’s Secret PINK with an upcoming campaign celebrating Valentine’s Day as the new official faces of the brand.
