CIX, the popular K-Pop boy band, is undergoing a significant change as one of its members, Bae Jin-young, has officially left the group. C9 Entertainment announced that Bae Jin-young decided not to renew his contract, which expired on August 4, 2024. This decision marks the end of his journey with CIX, where he played a crucial role as the lead dancer and center since their debut in 2019.
Bae Jin-young first gained fame as a contestant on the reality show “Produce 101” in 2017, finishing in 10th place and later debuting with the project group Wanna One. After Wanna One disbanded, he joined CIX, quickly becoming one of the group’s most recognized members. His solo career also flourished, with his debut album “Hard to Say Goodbye” selling over 63,000 copies in its first week, showcasing his popularity.
Following his departure, CIX will continue as a four-member group, consisting of Seghun, Yonghee, and Hyunsuk. C9 Entertainment expressed gratitude for Bae Jin-young’s contributions, stating, “We wish to express our sincere appreciation to Bae Jin-young for his dedication as a member of CIX. We hope fans will continue to support him in his future endeavors.”
Despite the change, CIX is gearing up for new music and performances later this year, promising fans that the group will remain active and vibrant. Known for their impressive discography, including multiple EPs and albums, CIX has made a significant impact in the K-Pop scene, achieving notable chart success and awards. As they move forward, fans are eager to see how the group evolves and what new music they will bring to the table.
