The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) has announced its latest batch of official certifications!
According to the RIAJ’s certification thresholds, albums are certified gold at 100,000 units shipped and platinum at 250,000. After 1 million shipped units, albums are officially given million certifications.
TREASURE has officially earned their first-ever RIAJ certification with their second Japanese mini album “THE SECOND STEP : CHAPTER TWO“! The album has sold over 100,000 copies in Japan alone and is now certified gold.
Also earning their first-ever RIAJ album certification is LE SSERAFIM! The group’s debut Japanese single album “FEARLESS” has officially earned a platinum certification with over 250,000 units sold across Japan.
A platinum certification was also given to TXT’s latest release “The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION” for selling over 250,000 copies. While this marks TXT’s third overall album to reach this milestone, “The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION” is now TXT’s first Korean album to go platinum in Japan.
In RIAJ’s latest batch of certifications, SEVENTEEN has made two separate achievements. The group’s ninth mini album “Attacca” is now certified RIAJ double platinum after surpassing 500,000 album sales in Japan. This marks SEVENTEEN’s fourth album to reach this milestone.
Additionally, SEVENTEEN’s first Japanese EP “DREAM” has become their first album to receive a million RIAJ certification! Following BoA, Girls’ Generation, and BTS, SEVENTEEN is now the fourth K-pop act in history to record a million-selling album in Japan.
