K-pop acts Ateez, Le Sserafim and The Rose will perform at the Coachella music festival in April, the organizers said Tuesday.
Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2024 will be held in Indio, California, for two weekends in April, from April 12 to 14 and from April 19 to 21.
Boy band Ateez will perform on the two Friday festival dates, on April 12 and 19, while girl group Le Sserafim will be on Saturdays, on April 13 and 20, followed by The Rose on the Sunday performances, on April 14 and 21.
American singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey, rapper and record producer Tyler, the Creator and rapper and singer Doja Cat will headline this year’s Coachella music festival. Rock band Blur, Japanese project duo Yoasobi, Vocaloid Hatsune Miku and many others will perform at the festival.
Ateez will be the first K-pop boy band to perform at the Coachella music festival. Le Sserafim is the second K-pop girl group to join the festival on its own after Blackpink.
Several K-pop artists performed at the Coachella music festival over the years, starting with the hip-hop trio Epik High in 2016. Blackpink first performed in 2019 as the festival’s sub-headliner, and in 2023 as the festival’s headliner, a first for a K-pop female act.
Girl group aespa and singers Bibi, Yoon Mi-rae and CL performed at the 2022 festival under American recording company and agency 88rising’s stage.
