ITZY has just achieved an impressive feat on the Billboard 200!
Although ITZY’s latest album “BORN TO BE” was originally released in Korea and on digital platforms back on January 8, the album had a delayed CD release in the United States—meaning that “BORN TO BE” was only physically released stateside on February 9, though its songs have been available for download and streaming in the United States since January. As a result, its debut on the U.S. album charts comes over a month after its initial release.
On February 21 local time, Billboard revealed that “BORN TO BE” had debuted at No. 62 on its Top 200 Albums chart, which ranks the most popular albums in the United States each week.
“BORN TO BE” marks ITZY’s sixth consecutive album to enter the Billboard 200, following “GUESS WHO,” “CRAZY IN LOVE,” “CHECKMATE,” “CHESHIRE,” and “KILL MY DOUBT.”
With this latest debut, ITZY has now tied TWICE’s record for the most Billboard 200 entries of any K-pop girl group in history—and they managed to do it in less than three years.
“BORN TO BE” also re-entered Billboard’s World Albums chart at No. 2 this week, in addition to sweeping the No. 5 spot on both the Top Album Sales chart and the Top Current Album Sales chart.
