The fans of SHINee’s Taemin have their own name: TAEMate.
TAEMate divides the fans of the SHINee artist from the main fanbase of the boyband, SHINee World.
The launch of TAEMate follows Taemin’s start as a solo artist under his new label, Big Planet Made, which he signed to after his contract with his agency of 16 years, SM Entertainment, ended in March. He will continue his band activities with SHINee under SM Entertainment.
The new name and logo of the fan club was announced at noon on Wednesday via Taemin’s social media pages.
TAEMate combines the singer’s name and the word “mate”, meaning “Taemin’s closest and best friend”, Big Planet Made said in a press release.
From next Monday until June 2, fans will be able to purchase memberships to the TAEMate club. Details will be announced at a later date via social media.
After 14 years since his solo debut, SHINee Taemin finally announced the official fan club name for his individual activities! What is it and what's the meaning behind it?#SHINee #Taemin https://t.co/M9KBhByRk0
