Boyband NCT Dream’s Mark will release his first solo album next February, with his debut solo single ‘200’ dropping on May 16.
Mark’s upcoming single comes eight years after his 2016 debut as a member of NCT’s subunit, NCT U. Since then, he has released NCT album songs featuring only his vocals, such as ‘Child’ (2022) and ‘Golden Hour’ (2023), but this will be the first time he has been active as a solo artist.
The single will consist of two songs: The title track “200” and the B-side “200 (Minhyung’s Ver.)”, where Minhyung is the Korean name of the Canadian rapper.
He posted a video of himself performing an acoustic version of ‘200’ with guitar instrumentals late on Thursday.
Mark is currently in preparation for the release of his solo album in February next year, his agency SM Entertainment said in a press release on Friday.
“It will openly showcase his own musical world, which has been expanded through his previous musical endeavours,” the agency said.
Mark is currently a member of NCT’s sub-group NCT Dream. The band will launch their first Japanese arena tour, entitled ‘The Dream Show 3: Dream( )scape’, with two concerts at the Kyosera Dome over the weekend.
