K-pop girl group IVE’s latest song “Heya” has been released to worldwide acclaim, but it has been the subject of hate comments from some Chinese netizens who accuse the group of imitating Chinese style.
The group released their second mini album, “IVE Switch”, together with the music video for the title track “Heya” on April 29.
The video begins with a scroll opening in a shade of blue. The members captivate viewers with their trendy interpretations of oriental-inspired outfits and eye-catching accessories including traditional Korean jewellery.
Illustrated, the six girls exude classic beauty as they dance to create an ethereal atmosphere. The scenes of a tiger surrounding the sun evoke a folktale fantasy of a tiger in love with the sun.
