BTS’s Jungkook has set a record as the first and fastest K-pop artist to achieve over 500,000 unit sales in the U.S. for three songs within a year. According to ‘SK Pop Culture’, a U.S. Hallyu media outlet, three tracks from Jungkook’s debut solo album ‘GOLDEN’ have each sold over 500,000 units in the U.S. within a year, marking a historic moment for the ‘Golden Maknae’.
Reportedly, the tracks ‘Seven’, ‘3D’, and ‘Standing Next to You’ from ‘GOLDEN’ have each achieved this remarkable feat. This achievement is the first of its kind in the U.S., the world’s largest music market, for different songs from a K-pop artist’s album. Jungkook has become the fastest K-pop artist to accomplish this feat.
Previously, Jungkook had achieved over 500,000 unit sales in the U.S. with his solo songs ‘Euphoria’ and ‘My Time’ from BTS albums, and the collaboration track ‘Left and Right’, thus totaling six songs including ‘Seven’, ‘3D’, and ‘Standing Next to You’.
‘Seven’ particularly marked a record as the fastest K-pop solo song to surpass one million units in sales in just 71 days in the U.S., earning Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). ‘Euphoria’ and ‘Left and Right’ also received Platinum certification for selling over one million units each.
Released last November, ‘GOLDEN’ achieved over 500,000 unit sales in the U.S. in less than a month, becoming the first K-pop solo artist album to do so in 2023. In its first week, it recorded the highest sales for a K-pop solo artist album in the U.S., exceeding 200,000 units.
GOLDEN has officially surpassed 2.3B streams on Spotify 🎉 Jungkook album is now leading as the first album by a kpop soloist album to reach this number. Golden is always setting new records!
