SHINee singer Key will be embarking on his first solo tour in Asia, starting with a concert in Bangkok, Thailand on 14 July.
Titled “2024 Keyland On: And On Asia Tour”, Key’s tour will kick off at MCC Hall in Bangkok, followed by Kota Kasablanka Hall in Jakarta on July 20, Broadway Theatre in Macau on July 28 and Kaoshiung Music Center on August 17.
“Key’s agency SM Entertainment said in a press release, “The concert will welcome audiences into the colourful world of Key’s music, which has been expanded from the ‘2024 Keyland On: And On’ concert held in Seoul last January.
Key recently renewed his contract with SM Entertainment, continuing his 16-year relationship with the agency since debuting as a member of the boy group SHINee in 2008.
Who Are SHINee?
SHINee is a South Korean boy band that was formed by the SM Entertainment group in 2008. There were five original members: Onew, Key, Minho, Taemin and Jonghyun, before Jonghyun passed away in 2017.
SHINee are considered one of the most influential K-pop groups, earning them the nickname ‘Princes of K-Pop’.
They are known for their catchy music, which blends K-pop, R&B, EDM and hip hop. They also have sharp and synchronised choreography, strong vocals and rap.
They made their debut in May 2008 with their EP ‘Replay’, which was a huge hit in South Korea. They have since released numerous albums in Korean and Japanese, with hits such as ‘Lucifer’, ‘Dream Girl’ and ‘Don’t Call Me’.
Who Is KEY?
Key (Korean: 키; Japanese: キー) is a South Korean singer, actor, fashion designer and MC under SM Entertainment. He is a member of the boy group SHINee.
He made his solo debut on November 6, 2018 with the digital single “Forever Yours”.
The History
He debuted as a member of SHINee on May 22, 2008 with the group’s first mini album Replayv and on the March 3, 2014, Key debuted as one-half of the duo Toheart, alongside INFINITE’s Woohyun, with the release of their first mini album.
On the 6th November, 2018 he
made his solo debut with his first digital single “Forever Yours”, which was later featured on his first studio album Face and on October the 30th, it was announced that Key would be releasing his first digital single, “Forever Yours”, on November 6. Moreover, on December 5, it was announced that Key would be making his Japan solo debut with his first mini album Hologram on December 21.
On February 8, 2019 as teaser video was posted which revealed that Key would be releasing his second digital single, “Cold”, on February 14 so on February 25, it was announced that Key would be releasing his first repackage album, I Wanna Be, on March 4. It’s the sixth release of STATION season 3.
2021: “Hate That…”
On August 24, teaser photos revealed that he would be releasing his third digital single, “Hate That…”, on August 30. It’s stated as the pre-release single for his upcoming album. On August 25, Taeyeon was said to be a feature artist on the single.
2021: Bad Love
On September 6, it was announced through a teaser photo that Key would be releasing his first mini album, Bad Love, on September 27.
2022: Gasoline
On August 9, it was revealed that he would be releasing his second full length album, Gasoline, on August 30.
2023: Killer, Boys Planet, Good & Great
On January 25, a logo clip was posted which announced that he would be releasing his second repackaged album, Gasoline, on February 13.
On March 23, Mnet revealed that Key was selected as the fifth star master for their competition show, Boys Planet.
On July 18, it was announced that Key will be joining the cast for TVING’s variety show, Crime Scene Returns. It is set to be released in the first half of 2024.
On August 17, Sports Chosun reported that Key will be having a comeback in September.
On August 21, it was announced that Key will be releasing his second mini album, Good & Great, on September 11.
