K-pop superstar IU’s first U.S. tour will include a stop in Oakland.
The singer-songwriter and actress, whose hit songs have hundreds of millions of listens, will perform at Oakland Arena on July 30, according to a tour announcement Tuesday. The tour is called “H.E.R.”
IU, whose real name is Lee Ji-eun, debuted in 2008 and has amassed a string of hits including 31 No. 1 singles in South Korea, the most of any artist, including “Eight,” “Blueming” and “Good Day.”
It will be her first tour with dates in the United States and Europe, including other stops in Los Angeles; Washington, D.C.; Rosemont, Ill., near Chicago; Newark, N.J.; London and Berlin.
Oakland Arena is no stranger to K-pop, with recent shows by Twice, IU collaborator Suga of BTS and an upcoming March show by Ive.
