With their third mini-album entitled ‘You Had Me at Hello’, popular K-pop boyband ZEROBASEONE are making a comeback.
The album will explore themes of destiny and will be released on 13th May and a pre-release track called ‘Sweat’ will be released on 24 April, giving fans a taste of the group’s summer sound, according to the group’s agency, Wakeone.

Who Is ZEROBASEONE?
ZEROBASEONE (Korean: 제로베이스원; Japanese: ゼロベースワン; also shortened to ZB1) is a nine-member multinational project boy group under WAKEONE. Formed through Mnet’s reality survival show Boys Planet, they made their debut on July 10, 2023 with their first mini album Youth in the Shade.
They will be active for two and a half years on a special contract before it ends sometime in January 2026.
The meaning behind their name is “the journey of nine trainees to complete as one after debut”.
Pre-debut: Boys Planet
On December 11, 2021, Mnet announced that the male version of Girls Planet 999, titled Boys Planet, would be coming in 2022. On June 25, 2022, Mnet officially confirmed they plan to air Boys Planet in the first half of 2023. On November 28, 2022, Mnet had officially announced that Boys Planet would premiere in February 2023, with a total of 98 participants from all over the world. The first teaser was revealed during the 2022 MAMA Awards.
Boys Planet premiered on February 2, 2023 while the live finale was broadcasted on April 20, 2023, revealing the final nine members to debut the show’s project group, ZEROBASEONE; Zhang Hao ranked first overall, obtaining a center position and a solo song on their debut album, followed by Hanbin ranking second, Matthew ranked third, Ricky ranked fourth, Gunwook ranked fifth, Taerae ranked sixth, Gyuvin ranked seventh, Jiwoong ranked eighth and Yujin ranked ninth. During the live broadcast it was stated that the group would promote for two years and six months.
Following the finale, the group’s official SNS accounts were opened.
2023: Debut with Youth in the Shade, Melting Point
On April 24, WAKEONE stated that ZEROBASEONE is starting their debut preparations and are planning for a mid-2023 debut.
On April 26, it was revealed that the group is filming a reality show. On May 1, the group announced their fandom name, ZEROSE, through a live.
On May 14, the spoiler film “Youth in the Shade” was released.
On May 26, WAKEONE confirmed that the group is preparing to make their debut sometime in July. On June 7, it was announced that the group will officially debut on July 10 with their first mini album Youth in the Shade.
On August 20, a spoiler film was revealed for the group’s second mini album, set to be released in November. During the Hana Playlist concert on September 16, member Sung Han Bin revealed that ZEROBASEONE will be making their first-ever comeback on November 6. On October 5, the group released a poster for their second mini album, Melting Point.
2024: Japanese debut, first Japanese fan meeting, “Sweat”, You Had Me At Hello
On November 29, 2023, it was announced that ZEROBASEONE will be making their Japanese debut in March 2024, also they will be held their first Japanese fan meeting in the same month.
On December 19, 2023, it was announced that the group will release their first Japanese single, “Yura Yura” on March 20.
On March 31, 2024, JBTC News reported that according to multiple industry sources, ZEROBASEONE is planning to make a comeback in May. Hours later, a spoiler film entitled “Summer Came Early” was released, hinting at their upcoming comeback.
On April 5, it was reported that ZEROBASEONE will be releasing a pre-release single on April 24, ahead of their May comeback. On April 11, a teaser for the pre-release single “Sweat” was unveiled.
On April 14, a poster was released which announced the group’s third mini album, You Had Me At Hello, slated for release on May 13.
