CRAVITY (크래비티) is a nine-member boy group under Starship Entertainment. They debuted on April 14, 2020 with the mini album Hideout: Remember Who We Are – Season1.
Their name stands for “Center of Gravity” and combines the words “Creativity” and “Gravity” to bring you into their universe with a unique charm.
2020: Debut, Hideout: Remember Who We Are – Season1. & Hideout: The New Day We Step Into – Season2.
On February 13, 2020, Starship revealed that they would be debuting a new boy group in the first half of the year with former X1 members Kang Min Hee and Song Hyeong Jun joining as members. On March 15, Starship opened the group’s official SNS accounts and the name revealed to be CRAVITY. The first three members were revealed the following day: Serim, Allen, and Jungmo. On March 17, Woobin, Wonjin and Minhee were revealed, followed by Hyeongjun, Taeyoung, and Seongmin on March 18.
On March 24, CRAVITY released a coming soon teaser photo titled “CRAVITY: SEASON1. [HIDEOUT : REMEMBER WHO WE ARE]” which Starship later confirmed that the group’s debut would be on April 14.
The group released their debut mini album Hideout: Remember Who We Are – Season 1. on April 14. “Break All The Rules” served as the album’s title track and “Cloud 9” as their follow-up track during promotions.
On May 11, they announced that their fandom name would be LUVITY, standing for “People who love CRAVITY”.
On August 5, CRAVITY announced they would be making their first comeback on the 24th with Hideout: The New Day We Step Into – Season 2.. “Flame” served as the album’s title track and “Ohh Ahh” as their follow-up track during promotions. On September 1, 2020, they had their first music show win with “Flame” on The Show.
2021: Hideout: Be Our Voice – Season3. & The Awakening : Written in the Stars
On December 21, 2020, CRAVITY announced they would be making their comeback on January 19 with Hideout: Be Our Voice – Season 3.. The title track was later revealed to be “My Turn”. The track “Bad Habits” was used for their follow-up promotions with its performance video released on March 11, 2021.
On July 19, 2021, a source from Starship Entertainment revealed that the group will comeback in August. It was later revealed that the group would release Part 1 of their first studio album The Awakening : Written in the Stars on August 19. The track “Veni Vidi Vici” was used for their follow-up promotions with its special video released on October 7, 2021.
2022: Liberty : In Our Cosmos, “Boogie Woogie”, New Wave
On January 26, 2022, CRAVITY announced they would return with Part 2 of their first studio album Liberty : In Our Cosmos on February 22. However, on February 12, 2022, Starship Entertainment announced that CRAVITY will halt all activities and postpone the album’s release after 7 of the 9 members being tested positive for COVID-19. The release was pushed back to March 22.
On August 5, a teaser photo was posted on the group’s Twitter account which announced that CRAVITY will be releasing their fourth mini album, New Wave, in September 2022. Before the album’s release, they will release their first English digital single, “Boogie Woogie” on August 12. The album’s release date was later revealed to be September 27.
2023: Master : Piece, Japanese debut with “Groovy -Japanese ver.-“, “Cheese”, Sun Seeker, Seongmin’s hiatus, Dilly Dally
On February 10, CRAVITY released a teaser video, announcing that their fifth mini album, Master : Piece, which was released on March 6.
On March 21, CRAVITY announced their first world tour 2023 CRAVITY The 1st World Tour “Masterpiece” starting with two nights of concerts in Seoul on May 13 and 14.
On May 16, it was announced that CRAVITY would make their Japanese debut with the single “Groovy -Japanese ver.-” on July 5.
On August 6, a teaser poster was released, announcing that their sixth mini album, Sun Seeker, which was released on September 11. “Cheese” was pre-released on September 1.
On October 11, it was announced that Seongmin would be taking a temporary hiatus from all activities due to his mother’s health issues.
On October 18, it was announced that CRAVITY would release their first Japanese EP Dilly Dally on December 6. On November 15, CRAVITY released their first Japanese digital single “Party Rock -Japanese ver.-” as a pre-release for their first Japanese EP.
2024: Evershine
On February 1, a teaser poster was released, announcing that their seventh mini album Evershine, which will be released on February 26.
