NewJeans is soaring to new heights in the United Kingdom with their latest hit!
On July 14, the United Kingdom’s Official Charts (typically regarded as the U.K. equivalent to Billboard’s U.S. charts) announced that NewJeans’ pre-release single “Super Shy” had debuted at No. 59 on its Official Singles Chart, marking their highest ranking yet.
Notably, NewJeans is the only female K-pop artist to debut more than one song on the Official Singles Chart in 2023—and only the second overall (following BLACKPINK). The group previously entered the chart for the first time with their smash hit “Ditto” back in January.
Not only is NewJeans now the fastest K-pop girl group to score more than one entry on the Official Singles Chart, having achieved the feat less than a year into their career, but “Super Shy” has also become their first song ever to enter the top 60. (“Ditto” peaked at No. 95 earlier this year).
